Rose Uniacke's designs do not fit a singular defining box - they are a mixture of simple, yet refined, of essentially clean and intuitive shapes, but with a great amount of textural detail. Her take on interior design is built upon her experience also as furniture restorer and antiques dealer, which complement her work as interior designer, designing both for showroom pieces, as well as for custom client projects. This three-fold line of work contributes to her acute sense of pairing old and new, intricate details and clean lines, complex textures and the simplicity of light.
Many of her works and designs end up using several more rustic elements paired with markedly crafted pieces, but the conducting line of he work seems to be the celebration of the materials, the respect for their nature and their history, the recovery of their usefulness and the bringing them together, from various original settings, into one single and incredibly cohesive room.
