Summary
May we hold accountable those who cause great loss on our planet and on its life, in the form of deprivation, suffering, infliction of defect or death. May we hold them accountable for the failure of upholding the universal and unalienable Rights of Life, Liberty, Security and Education of the makers of their product or service. May we refuse to give the Future as collateral against the default-bound borrowing of more resources to remake what we already possess, to renew what has never been worn down and to replace what we often acquired with visible inability to last more than one single use. May we stand and speak out against consumption for the sake of consumption, against consumption despite destruction, against giving up ethics consumption.

A Conscious Manifesto
At a time in which globalization is the norm, and in which we are neighbours and close friends to the other side of the world, it should seem hard to believe that we do not know, or refuse to know, that the products and services we acquire have a life before they are laid before our eyes, and another one that lasts long after we no longer lay eyes on them. It should seem hard to believe that we choose to ignore that that life before us and after us often implies the violation of men, women and children, of animals and plants, of land and water, of past, present and future, solely for our contentment and for the supply of needs we have been taught to create just to be satisfied.
Yet here we stand today. Here we stand, in need of a change in behaviours, in need of action, in need of gathering the increasing but undercoordinated efforts of a growing number of individuals and organizations and businesses that fight for an ethical and conscious consumption, in need of a public-wide social prosecution of those who have the power to do right but choose to do it not.
May we all hold accountable those who, for the sake of economic profit and competitive advantage over others alike, cause great loss on our planet and on its life, whether human or animal or other, in the form of deprivation or suffering or infliction of defect or death. May we all hold them accountable for the failure of upholding, by omission of enforcing action or by active collusion with corrupt agents, the universal and unalienable Rights of Life, Liberty, Security and Education of the workers and makers of their product or service, and in doing so jeopardizing the access to those same Rights by their children, families and neighbours. May we hold them accountable by exposing their failures, by being critical about their actions and reactions, by demanding change and by presenting alternative paths.
May we refuse altogether to give the Future, which will be our children’s and grandchildren’s Present, as collateral against the default-bound borrowing of more and more resources to remake what we already possess, to renew what has never been worn down the slightest, to replace what we often knowingly and intentionally acquired with visible inability to last more than one single use, to momentarily indulge ourselves in the illusory and vain gratification of consumption. May we refuse writing-off the Future by valuing and making the most of what we already own, by choosing higher quality against higher quantity, by refraining the consumption urges that were forced into our personalities throughout the last decades.
May we stand and speak out against consumption for the sake of consumption, against consumption despite destruction, against giving up ethics consumption. May we start today if not yesterday already, may we incite our friends and our family and our colleagues and our neighbours to start today if not yesterday already.
